Trump Tweets Obama Speech Declaring 'Actual Humanitarian Crisis at the Border'

Barack Obama waves

On Thursday, President Donald Trump mockingly thanked former president Barack Obama for a comment the former president gave about the border in 2014.

"We now have an actual humanitarian crisis on the border," Obama declared on June 30 of that year, urging Congress to "drop the politics and fix our immigration system once and for all."

Trump tweeted a six-second video of the remarks, adding, "President Obama, thank you for your great support – I have been saying this all along!"

The current president took the former president's words out of context, but he did so in order to drive home the point that Obama conceded that the border was "an actual humanitarian crisis" when it suited him politically. Democrats seem unwilling to acknowledge the truth of Obama's words, accusing Trump of manufacturing a crisis.
