Trump and Greta Clash on Twitter and It's Hilarious

The president tweeted his disapproval of Time's choice of Person of the Year on Thursday, calling the selection of Greta Thunberg "ridiculous."

"So ridiculous," he wrote. "Greta must work on her Anger Management problem, then go to a good old fashioned movie with a friend! Chill Greta, Chill!" Wasting no time, Thunberg changed her Twitter description to "a teenager working on her anger management problem. Currently chilling and watching a good old fashioned movie with a friend."

I applaud her for handling that potentially explosive situation with humor. Thunberg's response raised my opinion of the young wokescold, who should spend more time in school and less time lecturing adults about climate change.

Stay tuned for the outrage over the president "mocking a child" that is sure to come. While I generally think it's true that adults should leave children alone, if they choose to step into the limelight and comment on adult matters, then they are signaling they are ready for the debate and the criticism that comes with being politically active. Thunberg is proving she's up to the task.

The president's observations, though, are still true. Thunberg being chosen over the Hong Kong protesters for Time's highest honor is a ridiculous joke. A spoiled, wealthy child, being used as a political pawn by a political movement to squeeze money out of the wealthy West while ignoring all of the pollution in China (not to mention the human rights abuses) should be laughed at. Chinese protesters are being killed and beaten in the streets as they protest for their freedom from Communism. They are the ones who should be lauded.
