The Morning Briefing: Rep. Doug Collins Dumps Testimony Transcripts

Good Tuesday morning.

Here is what's on the president's agenda today:

  • The president has lunch with the vice president
  • President Trump participates in an expanded bilateral meeting with the leaders of the Freely Associated States

Collins does a testimony dump

Last night, Rep. Doug Collins (R-Ga.) released a boatload of closed-door testimony transcripts.

“The American people deserve transparency,” Collins said in a statement Monday. “They deserve to know what transpired in the highest levels of the FBI at the origin of the probe of President Trump’s campaign.”

“Out of an abundance of caution, these transcripts have a limited number of narrowly tailored redactions, relating only to confidential sources and methods, non-public information about ongoing investigations and non-material personal information,” Collins said.

Here are all the transcripts if you want to read them for yourselves, I haven't read them all yet.

I started reading the Loretta Lynch transcript and she denies telling Twitter personality and fired FBI Director James Comey to call the Hillary Clinton investigation a "matter." Remember that? Who is the liar here?

Also reported: It was Andrew McCabe who fired Peter Strzok from the Mueller team, according to McCabe's testimony. Curiously, Strzok did not mention it was McCabe who fired him when he testified.

McGahn ain't testifying

It's not happening. FILL IN THE BLANK: Take your subpoena and __________ it.

“Mr. McGahn understands from your prior correspondence that the Committee would vote to hold him in contempt should he not appear tomorrow and the House of Representatives may follow suit,” McGahn’s attorney William  Burck wrote in the letter, which was obtained by The Hill Monday evening.

“While we disagree with the Committee’s position and hope it will instead seek an accommodation with the White House, Mr. McGahn also must honor his ethical and legal obligations as a former senior lawyer and senior advisor to the President. In short, it is our view that the Committee’s dispute is not with Mr. McGahn but with the White House,” Burck added.

McGahn testified for 30 hours for the Mueller witch hunt and the Mueller harpies were unable to bring charges against the president. The only reason to get McGahn to testify is to create a spectacle, provide sound clips for the media vultures to chomp on during their nightly drum circles or force McGahn into some kind of perjury charge. That's it.

Do you notice the media is not covering the actual information in the Mueller report? They only talk about these satellite issues like A.G. Barr or releasing the minuscule amount of redacted information in the report. Also, does anyone know if Rep. Jerry Nadler (D-N.Y.) has filed a lawsuit to force the release of the grand jury testimony he demands to see? If not, why not? And one more thing -- when is Mueller testifying? Why doesn't Nadler have that nailed down?

Amash gone wild, the day after

Okay, so it's like two days after. Yesterday I asked the question "Justin Amash: WTF is wrong with you?" Amash ("R"-Mich.) a pretend libertarian who doesn't care about the government's abuse of power and civil liberties violations when they are launched against someone slapping tariffs on Chinese goods, decided to share with all the Twidiots out there that he thought Barr misrepresented the Mueller report and Trump should be impeached. Well, guess what? Mr. Amash has a primary challenger now.  The Freedom Caucus is none too happy with him either.

The House Freedom Caucus on Monday night formally condemned one of its founding members for declaring that President Trump committed impeachable offenses, but stopped short of kicking Rep. Justin Amash (R-Mich.) out of the hard-line conservative group.

Rep. Jim Jordan of Ohio, the top Republican on the House Oversight Committee and a former chairman of the Freedom Caucus, said that every single member in attendance during a weekly caucus meeting was unified in their opposition toward Amash’s comments. The group, which took a show of hands, needs the support of 80 percent of its members to take a formal position on an issue.

“It was every single person who totally disagrees with what he says,” Jordan said after the meeting.

They should have kicked him out.
