The Morning Briefing: As Expected, Trump Blamed for Deadly Massacres
Good Monday morning.
Here is what's on the president's agenda today:
- The president delivers remarks
- President Trump receives his intelligence briefing
- President Trump has lunch with the vice president
Multiple shooting this weekend
I will not use the names of either of the two homicidal maniacs.
The news cycle was dominated by two horrible mass slaughters this weekend, one in El Paso, Texas, and one in Dayton, Ohio.
In El Paso, the gunman, who is in custody, drove hundreds of miles to shoot up a Walmart frequented by Hispanics. He uploaded a manifesto, unconfirmed, with anti-immigrant talk and so the media added extra Trump attacks to their usual anti-gun hysteria. There were other ideas in this manifesto, but those didn't get much attention.
“The decimation of the environment is creating a massive burden for future generations. Corporations are heaing [sic] the destruction of our environment by shamelessly over harvesting resources,” it went on, saying Americans are unwilling to change their lifestyle to save the environment. “Fresh water is being polluted from farming and oil drilling operations. Consumer culture is creating thousands of tons of unnecessary plastic waste and electronic waste, and recycling to help slow this down is almost non-existent.”
Twitter was full of all kinds of blame for Trump (and Fox News), which is strange, because after domestic terror attacks by radical Muslims, we are immediately warned not to extrapolate blame beyond the guilty party. And the manifesto explicitly says the gunman predicted the media will blame Trump even though he had held these views long before Trump came around. But of course, its Trump's fault. Predictable. The WaPo writes that the shooter's alleged manifesto “stresses that he has maintained his white supremacist ideology for many years, predating President Trump and his 2016 campaign, which he says did not influence his reasons for carrying out the attack.”
Presidential candidates joined in blaming the president, of course. But remember why they blame Trump: his immigration policies. The president doesn't espouse white supremacy talking points about master race claptrap and keeping America "pure," he supports border enforcement and restricted immigration. This is what the left has turned into white supremacy.
Mexico is upset about the shooting claiming it was “an act of terrorism against the Mexican-American community and Mexican nationals in the United States.” Mexican Secretary of Foreign Affairs Marcelo Ebrard threatened: "We will act with reason and adherence to the law, but firmly." Really? Does anyone think Mexico cares about dead Mexicans? There are currently 37,000 missing or "disappeared" people in Mexico and 26,000 unidentified human corpses. So sit down and shut up, Mexico. Mexico hates, hates that Trump has forced them to stop the migrant flow through their sh!thole country to the U.S. because the migrant industry funds the drug cartels.
The Dayton, Ohio, shooter had more red flags than the Running of the Bulls. After hours of hearing all sorts vitriol directed at the NRA, at Trump, at the GOP and at Fox News for the El Paso shooting, the Dayton shooter turned out to be a big, fat lefty. Oh, and he had a kill list that got him suspended from school. HELLO.
According to Heavy.com: “REDACTED, the Dayton, Ohio mass shooter, was a self-described ‘leftist,’ who wrote that he would happily vote for Democrat Elizabeth Warren, praised Satan, was upset about the 2016 presidential election results, and added, ‘I want socialism, and i’ll not wait for the idiots to finally come round to understanding.’” All the hate against Elizabeth Warren and socialism was nowhere to be found. Satan! HELLO.
We won't be hearing much about this. Nor will we hear too much about how the Dayton shooter was expelled from school for writing a kill list.
Twenty people were murdered and 26 injured by the El Paso killer at the Walmart in El Paso, Texas. Nine people, including the shooter's sister, were killed and 27 others were wounded by the Dayton killer. G-d rest their souls. What a terrible tragedy.
Mexico should sue itself over all the dead Mexicans in its own country. Mexico Says They’re Going to Sue United States over El Paso Shooting
