Rep. Elise Stefanik Demands Adam Schiff Releases His Personal Phone Records
Increasingly more Republican members of Congress demand that the Democrat leader of the House Intelligence Committee releases his own personal phone records in order to prove that he and his team did not coordinate the impeachment effort with the so-called whistleblower.
Today, New York Rep. Elise Stefanik joined the growing group of angry Republican lawmakers. "Every American should be outraged by this unprecedented abuse of power by Adam Schiff," she writes on Twitter. "Adam Schiff should immediately release HIS personal phone records so the American people will be able to see his coordination with the whistleblower."
Stefanik is one hundred percent correct. By accessing the phone records of a sitting congressman (Rep. Devin Nunes) and a journalist -- and by using them against Trump and them in the impeachment process -- Schiff has gone too far. Not too long ago, such actions by a man like Schiff would be considered if not criminal, then at least extremely immoral.
Sadly, everything -- morals and the law included -- changed at the very moment Donald J. Trump became president. Up became down and down became up. Schiff and his ilk can abuse their power as much and whenever they want and no member of the mainstream media will call them out on it.
Meanwhile, there's some good news too. The impeachment hoax has produced a new, fresh face of the youngest generation of Republican lawmakers. Stefanik is not only the youngest Republican woman ever to be elected to Congress, she is also quickly proving to be extremely talented and courageous. Many members of the old guard can learn a thing or two from her.
