The Morning Briefing: Deep Staters Referred to DOJ and Much, Much More
Good Thursday morning.
Here is what's on the President's agenda today:
- The President travels to Naval Air Station Key West
- President Trump has a briefing with Joint Interagency Task Force-South, NORTHCOM, and SOUTHCOM
- The President returns to Palm Beach and Mar-a-Lago.
House Committee refers Deep State conspirators to DOJ for criminal investigation
Rep. Ron DeSantis (R-FL) and 10 other congressman sent a letter to Attorney General Jeff Sessions recommending a criminal investigation into such extra-constitutional actors as Loretta Lynch, Hillary Clinton, James Comey and Andrew McCabe.
Complaining about “dissimilar degrees of zealousness” in the investigations into Clinton and Trump campaign associates, they wrote:
“Because we believe that those in positions of high authority should be treated the same as every other American, we want to be sure that the potential violations of law outlined below are vetted appropriately.”
Politico ran this story with the headline: "Trump allies urge criminal investigations of Clinton, Comey, Lynch."
Can you ever remember the mainstream media describing Harry Reid, Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer as "Obama allies" in their official actions and public statements? Republican politicians, experts who do not work for approved left-wing think tanks, are always characterized as partisan, while the progressive politicians and policy wonks are identified as "enator" or "congressman" or "expert"with no qualifiers.
We'll see if anything comes of the "allies" referral. What do you think, will the DOJ go after these #resistance operatives?
A Clinton spokesperson responded to the DeSantis letter. “House Republicans have seen the numbers and are running scared as we head into midterm season. They should focus on working for the people they are asking to reelect them, not do Trump’s bidding. It’s pathetic,” Nick Merrill said. Is that so? The Comey media blitz continues
Twitter celebrity and fired FBI Director James Comey continues his publicity march across the televisions of America. Yesterday he visited that chicken coop we know as "The View" to talk about his new autoethnography. Hostess Meghan McCain was not having it. “J. Edgar Hoover would be rolling over in his grave” she said.
“I want to believe you’re not a political person,” she said. “You’re the head of the FBI, but you write in your book how you went to President [Barack] Obama, and you were on the verge of tears, saying you were going to miss him. You also said were dreading the next four years with [President Donald] Trump.”
She added, “You said very incendiary things about my party this morning. I’m a Republican who has many issues with Trump, that is not reflective of my party as a whole. The big issue I have is — I don’t want to know your politics, and a lot of the things you’re saying and doing are highly political, and I just don’t understand what you gain, trying to sort of clear the deck here by bringing things like this up.”
