Conservative Twitter Celebrates: Hashtag #BuildThatWall Goes Viral
As we reported yesterday, the Supreme Court has "struck down a lower court order, allowing President Donald Trump to redirect military funds to build his wall on the southern border. In a 5-4 decision, the Court allowed Trump to redirect $2.5 billion in military construction funds for wall projects in California, Arizona, and New Mexico."
President Trump was elated when he heard the news. "Wow! Big VICTORY on the Wall. The United States Supreme Court overturns lower court injunction, allows Southern Border Wall to proceed," he wrote on Twitter Friday. "Big WIN for Border Security and the Rule of Law!"
Regular supporters of the president clearly see it exactly the same way. Shortly after the SCOTUS decision was announced, the hashtag #BuildThatWall went viral on Twitter. This popularity of the hashtag continued throughout the night:
We all remember those entire stadiums full of people chanting "build that wall, build that wall!" during the 2016 election campaign. The liberal media portrayed this as supposed evidence of Trump's racism, but that was and is ludicrous, of course. Conservatives don't want to prevent all immigrants from coming to America, they merely want to combat illegal immigration. And who can blame them? No other country in the world would put up with millions and millions of illegal immigrants, and rightfully so.
It says more about the sad state of American politics and homeland security that a hashtag like #BuildThatWall goes trending on Twitter, than about Trump and his supporters. The elites are the ones who have let this happen. Democrats and Republicans have systematically refused to do anything to secure the border. You can hardly blame Trump supporters for being so fed up that they're celebrating a SCOTUS decision allowing Trump to finally, at long last, build the wall.
