After Booting Righties, Patreon Allows Communists to Raise Funds to Promote Violent Insurrection

Antifa Podcast The Guillotine.

Patreon, a membership platform that allows users to run a content service for their subscribers, recently deplatformed a number of right-wing accounts for being in violation of their "community guidelines."

According to Far Left Watch, the Patreon accounts for Milo Yiannopoulos, Carl Benjamin (Sargon of Akkad), and James Allsup were all terminated, which is all well and good if those individuals violated the platform's community standards and Patreon is treating people with various political ideologies equally.

Unfortunately, that does not seem to be the case, according to a Far Left Watch survey of Patreon's accounts.

"There are several far-left users who appear to be blatantly violating Patreon’s Community Guidelines," Far Left Watch reported. "These users are raising thousands of dollars each month and are actively using that money to organize and advocate for violent and often illegal criminal activity."

Far Left Watch identified three interconnected antifa accounts that encourage violent insurrection against the capitalist state and openly support terrorist organizations.

Revolutionary Left Radio:

Over 700 Patrons donate monthly to this far-left podcast, which is hosted by Brett Anderson aka “Breht O'Shea” or "Breht Ó Séaghdha."

The podcast purports to discuss "political philosophy, current events, activism, and the inevitable historical downfall of capitalism from a revolutionary leftist perspective."

Anderson (@DeadIrishRebel) was one of a dozen people arrested in March 2017 during a counter-protest of a rally supporting President Trump in Omaha. He is a vocal proponent of armed confrontation with the state and with people he calls “reactionaries.”

Via Far Left Watch, here are a few of the more inflammatory tweets from both @RevLeftRadio and @DeadIrishRebel, many of which have been deleted and archived.

In this deleted thread, they openly admitted their ideology and tactics were “authoritarian”:

Archive: (archive.fo/DtJMT)

Thread: I know we add qualifiers like “democratic” and “libertarian” to socialism to identify tendencies, and some use “authoritarian” as a pejorative; but all politics is “authoritarian” in a world where people disagree; and nothing is more “authoritarian” than revolutions…

— Revolutionary Left Radio (@RevLeftRadio) March 27, 2018

Here, they discussed being armed and “militant.”

Here, they discussed putting every fascist (basically people who oppose their far-left ideology) “against the wall,” a reference to execution by firing squad.

F*ck it. I just identify as a militant revolutionary communist who wants to put every fascist in the world against the wall and violently expropriate the wealth and property of the owning class. I’m hoping that catches on! Haha

Here, they shared a Mao Zedong quote advocating for violent revolution.

“A revolution is not a dinner party, or writing an essay, or painting a picture; it cannot be so refined, so leisurely and gentle, so temperate, kind, restrained and magnanimous.

A revolution is an insurrection, an act of violence by which one class overthrows another.” - Mao

In this archived tweet, Anderson seemed to support the work of the New People’s Army (NPA), a State Department-designated foreign terrorist organization that is responsible for the deaths of at least 158 innocent civilians.

”According to subsequent surveys carried out by U.S. oil engineers, the natural gas reserves of Liguasan alone amount to $580 billion.

At the same time the island is also home to robust people’s movements and has a strong presence of armed groups including the New Peoples Army.”  pic.twitter.com/09VCXlGFvU

In another archived tweet, Anderson advised his followers to use tactics like sabotage and asymmetrical warfare.

In the meantime, yes, underground activity, asymmetrical warfare, guerrilla tactics, sabotage, etc. are all tools in the tool box. We should use them.

The Guillotine podcast:

This far-left podcast currently has over 350 Patrons who collectively donate $1,000 monthly to their show, which is hosted by Brett Anderson and a lefty who uses the moniker "Dr. Bones."

Dr. Bones is also a regular guest on Revolutionary Left Radio and is a self-described “Egoist-Communist, Insurrectionist, and an Illegalist.”

During a podcast on May 14 of this year, Anderson discussed tactics that he said have been historically effective in defeating the "fascist" state. "Do we really want to f*cking do sh*t?" he asked.

After claiming that he was in no way advocating violence, and cautioning people not to do anything that could land them in jail, Anderson presented for his audience a "hypothetical and theoretical" scenario that he said was effective at keeping the population in line.

"Insofar as we don't have the powers on the left to straight-up attack the state or straight-up attack the right in a violent armed struggle ... there are other forms of political violence that have worked throughout history," he explained. Two things that seem to have worked, he continued, "are assassinations and property destruction. If, for some hypothetical or theoretical reason, a leftist sees a prominent fascist and says, 'This guy needs to be taken out' -- whatever -- you assassinate this person in whatever way -- cutting his brakes, shooting him, etc., whatever," Anderson said.

He suggested leaving a little note behind that says, "if you’re gonna be a fascist and you're gonna come out, and you're gonna promote genocide, you're gonna promote hate crimes, this could happen to you." He advocated doing the same thing to "a corporate CEO," arguing that taking such actions "speaks volumes more than just screaming about how you want to be violent."

He also advocated for property destruction to send a message to capitalist oppressors.

"It doesn't take a strong, huge armed force to go out and carry out attacks on property of, let's say, capitalists who mistreat their workers, but a yacht sinking in a harbor with a note left behind that says, 'you treat the workers this way, or we're out here, we're organized, and we're not gonna take it.' That speaks volumes. That is the actual power and that is the sort of violence that speaks for itself," Anderson explained.

Here are a few of the more inflammatory archived tweets from both “Dr. Bones” and The Guillotine podcast:

More talk about people who should “get the wall.”

This is why liberals get the wall too.

In this archived tweet, he talked about “outshooting” his political opponents rather than debating them.

Seen some Anarchists getting troubled by Tankies again.

Reminder: in the event of an actual insurrection, riot, or revolt, you do not have to out-debate your political opponents.

You have to outshoot them.

Internet is for propaganda only.

Here, he explicitly instructed his followers to “threaten rich people with violence.”

He also encouraged his followers to “start building guerrilla cells” to “up the insurrection."

The text in the images he shared suggested carrying out attacks against “police stations, political party offices, etc.” as well as “public buses, trams, and trains."

He shared an essay that advocates using pipe bombs and shotguns in the violent insurrection.

The Guillotine podcast also encouraged followers to start building “clandestine cells” and provided instructions on exactly how to do that.

Yes, voting will not change the oppressive system we live under. But neither will arguing online.

Did you know every guerrilla force has relied upon a network of clandestine cells to organize the underground? Did you know YOU CAN START BUILDING CELLS NOW?https://t.co/fMv9c5xvy3 pic.twitter.com/KANyTxU8GA

— The Guillotine (@GuillotinePod) November 6, 2018

In a December 2017 podcast, they praised the work of the Informal Anarchist Federation (IAF),  a foreign terrorist organization responsible for numerous bombing campaigns throughout Italy.

After Far Left Watch posted its report, The Guillotine podcast updated its account and removed "inspire insurrection" from its goals.

Bones also has his own Patreon page, which seeks to “inspire insurrection,” but after Far Left Watch brought this to the attention of  Patreon support, “Dr. Bones” removed the "insurrection" language from his page, including a bit about firing “massive .44 rounds at the heads of politicians and capitalists.”

Clearly, these three Patreon accounts are in violation of their community guidelines, which say, "there is no room on Patreon for hate speech such as calling for violence, exclusion, or segregation."

Additionally, community guidelines say, "We don’t allow funds to be collected for anything that facilitates harmful or illegal activities. You cannot post content that advocates, threatens, or shows you causing harm to yourself or other people, as well as animals. In the same line, you cannot promote illegal activities such as property crime, distribution of illegal weapons, or drug manufacturing."

Far Left Watch is urging readers to report these violations to Patreon’s Trust and Safety Team.
