Antifa Assaults Elderly Driver While Portland Police Stand Down
Antifa protesters in Portland, Oregon, were blocking and directing traffic during a demonstration last week when an elderly driver either ignored their directions or became confused. He made a right turn, which angered the thugs who then attacked his vehicle, causing thousands of dollars in damages.
The victim, 74-year-old Kent Houser, told The Oregonian, "When you have an angry mob yelling at you and beating on your car you just want to get out of there."
You may notice in the video that the police were nowhere to be seen. This has been the policy of the police in Portland in recent months as protesters occupied the ICE building last summer while the cops twiddled their thumbs.
The mayor, Ted Wheeler, defended the lack of police action.
“I was appalled by what I saw in the video, but I support the Portland Police Bureau’s decision not to intervene,” he said at a Friday press conference. “This whole incident will be investigated.”
The video posted by journalist Andy C. Ngo showed protesters, including members of Antifa and Black Lives Matter, blocking an intersection and attempting to direct traffic at while officers on motorcycle watched from a block away.
Journalist Andy Ngo. who recorded the attack on Houser, says this is typical of the mayor and the city:
Ngo was also at the scene last night when Patriot Prayer clashed with Antifa in front of a popular bar downtown.
Members of the right-wing group Patriot Prayer and their black-clad adversaries, known as antifa, used bear spray, bare fists and batons to thrash each other outside Kelly's Olympian, a popular bar on Southwest Washington Street.
The melee, which lasted more than a minute, ended when riot cops rushed in and fired pepper balls at the street fighters.
Left-wing thugs like Antifa and Black Lives Matter have completely cowed police departments and politicians. The police officers on the ground are almost certainly not in sympathy with the protesters but have no choice but to stand by when their craven leadership and politicians are more concerned about getting sued or criticized in the media than they are about protecting life and property.
But remember: There's no such thing as "left-wing mobs."
