[UPDATED] Daily Stormer to Disappear From the Internet After Insulting Victim of Deadly Car-Ramming in Charlottesville

See below for update.

On Sunday, the hateful white supremacist website Daily Stormer posted a vile and disgusting article insulting Heather Heyer, the lone civilian casualty of the violence in Charlottesvielle, Va., over the weekend.

(Warning: The material from this article is deeply disturbing.)

The article’s headline proved egregious enough, “Heather Heyer: Woman Killed in Road Rage Incident was a Fat, Childless 32-Year-Old Sl*t.” Hard as it is to believe, the article actually gets worse.

The first of the “five fat facts you need to know” is that Heyer “was Fat and a Drain on Society,” according to Daily Stormer. Andrew Anglin, the author behind such hatred, somehow brought himself to write this: “Despite feigned outrage by the media, most people are glad she is dead, as she is the definition of useless. A 32-year-old woman without children is a burden on society and has no value.”

“Due to female privilege, and the fact that they do virtually nothing their entire lives, women live an average of 5 years longer than men,” Anglin disgustingly added. “The average female lifespan is 81 years. That means for 49 more years, this fat slob would have been leeching off of men’s work.”

But the hatred did not end there. “Had she not died yesterday, hundreds of thousands of dollars would have been spent on propping-up this gross creature who had failed to do her most basic duty — her only real duty, in fact — and reproduce.”

Anglin gets even worse. “Having no children at that age, it can be assumed that she had multiple abortions, and was thus herself a child murderer.”

The article went on to claim that the only reason Heyer died was that she was too “fat” to dodge the car that killed her (yes, seriously, the article says that).

Anglin even went so far as to praise the driver who killed her as “a hardcore player, and sources claim that he didn’t give a f**k.” Police have identified the driver as neo-Nazi James Fields.

Liberal activist Amy Siskind rightly decried this post, calling on web hosting company GoDaddy to stop giving such hatred a platform on Daily Stormer. “You host The Daily Stormer – they posted this on their site. Please retweet if you think this hate should be taken down & banned,” Siskind wrote.

On Sunday evening, GoDaddy announced that it would give Daily Stormer 24 hours to find a new hosting service. “We informed The Daily Stormer that they have 24 hours to move the domain to another provider, as they have violated our terms of service,” GoDaddy tweeted, in response to Siskind.

A few hours later, a post claiming to be from the hacktivist group Anonymous proclaimed the “END OF HATE.”

“THIS SITE IS NOW UNDER THE CONTROL OF ANONYMOUS,” the post declared. “WE HAVE TAKEN THIS SITE IN THE NAME OF HEATHER HEYER A VICTIM OF WHITE SUPREMACIST TERRORISM.”

The post had several odd features that suggested Daily Stormer created it themselves. First, the post seemed to praise Daily Stormer as a difficult nut to crack.

“IT TOOK A UNITED FORCE OF ELITE HACKERS FROM AROUND THE WORLD TO BREACH THE SYSTEMS AND THE FIREWALL,” the post declared, oddly praising the very site Anonymous allegedly attacked.

Secondly, the timetable of the Anonymous threat seemed rather convenient. “WE WILL ALLOW THE SITE TO REMAIN ONLINE FOR 24 HOURS SO THE WORLD CAN WITNESS THE HATE … THEN WE WILL SHUT IT DOWN … PERMANENTLY.”

Finally, there was this nugget: “HACKERS OF THE WORLD HAVE UNITED IN DEFENSE OF THE JEWISH PEOPLE.”

Anonymous would have little reason to mention the Jews in this post. But Daily Stormer has a whole section devoted to “Jewish Problem.” The anti-Semitism of this hateful website seemed to masquerade itself in the very threat posted by “Anonymous.”

The actual hacktivist group had a different explanation for this post — one that makes much more sense. “Dailystormer is using GoDaddy’s removal to claim their website will be removed by Anonymous within 24 hours. Nice try!” the group tweeted.

Another Twitter handle associated with Anonymous also mocked the post. “If goal of Daily Stormer was to get us to celebrate a BS claim, it backfired. Seriously, suck less,” Anonymous tweeted.

Daily Stormer was bad news throughout the Charlottesville violence. The site ran a live blog on the events over the weekend, spewing anger and hate throughout.

“To those of you in Charlottesville, go out and enjoy yourselves,” one post ran. “If you’re at a bar in a group, random girls will want to have sex with you. Because you’re the bad boys. The ultimate enemy of the state. Every girl on the planet wants your d*ck now.”

The post added, “We are now at war” and “We are going to take over the country” (emphasis original).

Another post praised President Donald Trump’s comments after the attack.

“Trump comments were good. He didn’t attack us. He just said the nation should come together. Nothing specific against us,” the site reported. “He said that we need to study why people are so angry, and implied that there was hate… on both sides!”

“So he implied the antifa are haters,” the post continued. “There was virtually no counter-signaling of us at all. He said he loves us all.” Wait, what? Yes, somehow these white supremacists interpreted Trump’s condemnation of both sides as a statement of “love” for the white supremacists.

“Also refused to answer a question about White Nationalists supporting him. No condemnation at all. When asked to condemn, he just walked out of the room. Really, really good,” the post added. “God bless him.”

Trump needs to wholeheartedly condemn these people, because they will latch on to anything less as a statement of “love” towards them.

The fake Anonymous post isn’t fooling anyone: Daily Stormer has lost GoDaddy and cannot find another company to host their hatred on the Internet. After disgusting and unsubstantiated attacks against a victim of the weekend’s violence, this hateful site deserves to be consigned to oblivion.

While both sides in Charlottesville behaved badly, Trump really does need to especially condemn this kind of hate. Free speech is a key American value, but there is no place for Daily Stormer in America.

UPDATE: Google has announced that it is canceling The Daily Stormer’s domain registration, Reuters reported. This is big news, as it means Google will not only refuse to host The Daily Stormer’s content — it won’t even register the name.
