Adam Conover Exposes Sinister Truth of the Electoral College (Which You've Known Since 6th Grade)

Adam Conover serves as creator and host of Adam Ruins Everything, a show in the style of Myth Busters with more of a hipster tone. In the below video, Adam “ruins” the Electoral College by exposing its sinister anti-democratic nature. His presentation of the weight given to smaller states over larger ones is clearly intended to shock the audience.

“As a result of this system,” Adam explains, “you’re vote could count for less just because of where you live.” Oh the humanity!

Of course, anyone who remembers their sixth grade social studies class won’t be shocked by Adam’s exposé. The Electoral College was designed to grant smaller states more weight than they would have under a national popular vote scheme, because the president of the United States was never meant to be popularly elected.
