Now that Donald Trump is the presumptive Republican nominee, he is making a concerted effort to reconcile with a demographic he has antagonized in the past.
Trump got off on the wrong foot with Hispanics last summer when he accused Mexico of sending its very worst people to the United States.
“They are, in many cases, criminals, drug dealers, rapists, etc,” he said at the time. Since then, his relationship with Hispanics has been — let us say — strained.
With a dismal 12% approval rating and 77% disapproval rating among Hispanics, Trump has a steep hill to climb in order to win them over in November.
On Cinco de Mayo 2016, the bombastic billionaire made his first move toward reconciliation:
Happy #CincoDeMayo! The best taco bowls are made in Trump Tower Grill. I love Hispanics! https://t.co/ufoTeQd8yA pic.twitter.com/k01Mc6CuDI

Yes, that was a actual tweet by the presumptive Republican nominee for president.
But it gets worse….
Just got off phone with Trump Grill, says they don’t serve taco bowls. It’s not on the menu online.

No, nothing weird about any of this, at all.
