I don’t know about other women, but I didn’t really know what my body would look like after my baby was born. Of course, I had read the horror stories (The Girlfriends’ Guide to Pregnancy), but until you go through it yourself, you don’t know how it will change you.
I was exhausted and it hurt way more than the worst horror stories I had heard from other women. It changed my body so much that I didn’t recognize my once-fit physique. I had a permanent “messy bun”on the top of my head and circles under my eyes that made me look like a linebacker for the Steelers. Not very glamorous, but a small price to pay for the blessing of my child.
One new mom recently captured a photo of herself on Facebook just 24 hours after giving birth. The photo shows what most women really look like after they have a baby. No makeup, messy hair, and even the sexy adult diapers. Erica Andrews writes:

She went on to write:
23 hours ago I held life within and 24 hours ago I surged and transformed allowing life to flow through me, into my waiting hands. The emptiness in my womb brings a heavy feeling crashing into reality but then this new little life whimpers, searching for the breast with soft rooting, and I feel whole again. I am still processing the beautiful transition my whole family has traveled through and I am in complete awe of our strength as humans, women, and mothers. This time is simply unlike any other.” — @laughing.moon
