'The Joker' Delivers Baby in Most Memorable Birth Ever

Most parents never forget the day their children were born. But for Brittany Selph, 32, of Tennessee, the day her third child was born was so epic that she most definitely will never forget it.

Selph was due with her baby girl on November 5, and so she was surprised when her water broke on October 31. She and her husband Justin, 33, dropped their 10-year-old and 4-year-old kids off at school and then headed to the hospital. That was when The Joker showed up. Selph's obstetrician, Dr. Locus, had dressed as the comic book villain for Halloween and came in to monitor the expectant mom's progress.

According to the Huffington Post: “We couldn’t help but laugh when he walked in the room!” Justin Selph said. “My wife, being [an] open-minded woman, with a sense of humor, thought it would be hilarious to have such a unique delivery.”

When Dr. Locus determined that Selph still had a few hours before she would be ready to deliver, he explained to her that he would go home to hand out some candy to trick-or-treaters, change into regular clothes, and then return to the hospital for the delivery. But Selph asked that he not change — she thought it would be funny to have The Joker deliver her baby.

When Dr. Locus returned in full costume for the delivery, Selph said it made everything a litter easier for her as she delivered little Oaklyn Saige Selph. “Of course there’s pain but to talk to him and see him down there, it kind of did take my mind off of what was going on it and gave me a little bit of a giggle there to release some stress,” she said.

Of course the family had a blast taking photos with Dr. Locus, who had a sense of humor about the whole thing. Proud dad Justin posted the pictures and a video to his Facebook page.
