Creators of Pokemon Go Are Exploring the World of Harry Potter

Niantic’s ultra-popular mobile game Pokémon Go has been a massive success worldwide, as it got players searching all over the neighborhood to collect Zubat, Koffing, Pikachu, and hundreds of other Pokémon using its augmented reality gaming platform. But their next release will unleash a range of strange magical creatures for wizards to battle in “Harry Potter: Wizards Unite.”

Although there aren’t any screenshots of the game in action, a press release from Niantic notes what Harry Potter fans should look forward to:

Players that have been dreaming of becoming real life Wizards will finally get the chance to experience J.K. Rowling’s Wizarding World. Players will learn spells, explore their real world neighborhoods and cities to discover & fight legendary beasts and team up with others to take down powerful enemies.

"Harry Potter: Wizards Unite" does not have a release date yet, but Niantic has partnered with Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment as they collaborated with Nintendo for Pokémon Go. Stay tuned!

Speaking of Pokémon Go, the popular title continues to receive regular updates, and fans should look forward to catching a brand new batch of Pokémon before too long, as a recent Halloween event introduced Sableye, Duskull, Shuppet, and other ghostly Pokémon from the third generation of traditional Pokémon games, which included Pokémon Ruby, Sapphire, and Emerald.
