Black Friday is only a few days away so it’s time to start planning where you want to spend your Black Friday firearms dollars. There’s been chatter that this year won’t be another record-breaking one for retailers because there isn’t a fear in the Second Amendment community of an anti-gun Democrat president. But even if you feel secure in your right to keep and bear arms, it’s always good to stock up on firearms and ammunition, especially if you can find some good deals. Here are my 2016 picks from the big box retailers.
1. The Remington 870 express pump shotgun from Bass Pro Shop
After a rebate, this shotgun will run you $239. Nothing says “I cling to my guns and religion” like a Remington 870 pump. It’s a decent outdoor gun and a great home-defense shotgun. The sound of racking that round into the chamber can be an effective deterrent.
2. Federal .22lr match ammo from Bass Pro Shop
It’s been hard to find .22lr ammo these last few years and here’s a box of 325 for $15.99. You’ll have to move fast, as it’s only available for 6 hours.
3. Ammo box from Bass Pro for only $10
You have to have somewhere to store and carry your ammo — why not a metal, waterproof box that only costs $10?
4. Looking for a conceal gun?
This Kimber micro rosewood pistol in .380 or 9mm could do the trick and it will run you $499.97. This baby will be available for only 6 hours from Bass Pro Shop so plan accordingly.
5. Interested in an over/under shotgun?
Cablela’s has this CZ-USA Teal over/under shotgun for only $549.99 after a $200 discount. You can choose from 12ga or 20ga and the gun comes with 5 choke tubes, ejectors and a ported barrel. Get the 12ga; go big or go home.
6. Cabela’s is offering 10% off all Gun Tote’n Mamas concealed-carry handbags
I always head straight to their booth every year at the SHOT show to see what new goodies they have. This is a great gift for you or the lady in your life and the best thing about GTM’s bags is they are not ugly and obvious conceal bags. Get yourself something stylish.
7. This is my favorite deal and it is available online as well from Cabela’s
A flat (250 rounds) of Remington gun clubs for $54.99. I am all over this. Gun clubs are my round of choice and if you are a clay target shooter you should stock up on gun clubs. I probably shoot 100 or 200 rounds on the weekends and am always looking to get a deal on target ammo.
8. Gander Mountain is my favorite big box store and they have a good deal on a Smith & Wesson M&P Shield in 9mm or .40S&W
I own this gun in 9mm and I love it. It’s compact but it shoots like a bigger gun and won’t hurt your hand. $374.99 will make this gun yours and you also get a $50 gift card to spend at Gander Mountain — which will not be hard to do.
9. If you aren’t near a Bass Pro Shop which has this gun $40 cheaper, Gander Mountain has a deal on a Remington 870 express pump shotgun for $279.99 after rebate.
10. How about a Bushmaster for that special someone (you) this year?
Gander Mountain has a Bushmaster QRC optics ready assault weapon semi-automatic rifle for $554.99. Bushmaster makes a nice rifle and it will drive your lefty friends bonkers because it’s a Bushmaster. This one is chambered in 5.56 NATO. You can pick up some hicapmags too.
Other items you can pick up on Black Friday if you are willing to brave the crowded madness: fleece, thermal clothes for hunting and shooting in the cold, and sweatshirts. There are also great deals to be had on extra magazines and shooting gear like eye protection or gun cleaning accessories. Some other great online stores where I like to shop are: Lucky Gunner, Target Sports USA, Gamaliel, and of course, Gun Broker. Keep an eye out for deals on Cyber Monday.
