Via Variety:

FX has renewed “Archer” for three additional eight-episode seasons. The move will carry the animated comedy through Season 10. The eighth season, the first covered under the extension, is set to premiere in 2017.

Floyd County Productions, the company behind the show, has also signed a new overall deal with FX Networks.

“We can’t say enough about what Adam, Matt and the entire Archer team at Floyd County have done to keep this series so insanely funny and vital through seven seasons,” said Nick Grad, president of original programming for FX Networks and FX Productions. “The move to Los Angeles this past season as private detectives was just the latest twist in Archer’s legendary exploits and the next three seasons will to be just as amazing and unpredictable. We are thrilled to continue making great TV with our friends and colleagues at Floyd County.”

This show is definitely not for everyone but it is riotously funny. The humor is very raw, but that’s not very unusual on FX. There are very few shows that have ever consistently made me laugh out loud, and “Archer” is one of them. A few years ago I was rehabbing some broken ribs and decided to relax and catch up on the show. About ninety seconds into the season 3 premiere I realized that all “Archer” viewing would have to wait until the ribs healed because it hurt too much to laugh.

The show’s lead is voiced by H. Jon Benjamin, who also does the lead voice on “Bob’s Burgers” (there’s even a weird crossover episode). As I have written before, the animated cable shows are great for people who loath political correctness and like their humor exceedingly irreverent. There are no sacred cows on any of Fox’s or FX’s hit animated shows. They are all also equal opportunity offenders, sparing no one. I don’t know why they get a pass, but as a fan of real comedy, I’m glad they still do.
