Joe Biden Claims Lt. Col. Vindman Deserves a Medal and 'Not Rush Limbaugh'
Joe Biden tried to show some energy Friday night during the debate when he brought up the firing of Lt. Col. Vindman earlier in the day.
"By the way, Colonel Vindman got thrown out of the White House today, walked out," Biden said. "He should be pinning a medal on Vindman, and not on Rush Limbaugh."
Biden then asked the audience to give Lt. Col. Vindman a standing ovation to show their support, and in response to the cheers, he said, "That's who we are, we are not who Trump is."
Biden's passioned plea for support for Lt. Col. Vindman seems to ignore the fact that Vindman was not a great witness for the Democrats. He admitted that he had no firsthand knowledge of the held-up Ukraine aid or any potential linkage to the investigation and that he was just “following news accounts” about what happened.
In fact, I was able to point out ten reasons why his testimony was so bad for the Democrats. Ultimately, having him stay in his position, where he clearly was unable to perform his duties as a low-ranking official without trying to undermine the president, would have been foolish. He had to be let go.
But Biden's bringing up of Rush Limbaugh's Presidential Medal of Freedom was really petty. Rush Limbaugh deserved his Presidential Medial of Freedom more than any of the Hollywood liberals Obama gave a medal to. Obama even gave a Medal of Freedom to a sexual predator.
Joe Biden and other Democrats need to get over Rush Limbaugh's Medal of Freedom. I really don't think they want to get into a debate over which recipients actually deserved the award, and which ones didn't.
