Politicizing The I-35 Bridge Collapse

While James Lileks has been doing yeoman work at the Minneapolis Star-Tribune blogging up a storm on the reaction to yesterday’s bridge collapse, his far left colleague Nick Coleman, not surprisingly, is using it as an effort to attack Tim Pawlenty, Minnesota’s Republican governor for not sufficiently raising taxes, in very much the same way that CNN’s Jack Cafferty is teeing off on President Bush on Iraq, and CBS’s Katie Couric is using the opportunity to call for tax increases on a national level.

Of course, virtually everything is eventually politicized by the left; it’s just a matter of how quickly it occurs. And as Newsbusters notes, this is hardly a new technique in a time of crisis.
