Swing State Returns Live Blog (EV: Game Over, Obama Re-Elected)
ELECTORAL VOTE TOTALS
Check here for a map of which state polls close at what time. This post will be updated as numbers become available. If a swing state is written in blue or red, it has been called for the corresponding party.
NORTH CAROLINA (15)
NEW HAMPSHIRE (4)
Non-swing state calls:
Kentucky, Indiana, West Virginia, South Carolina, Georgia, Oklahoma, Mississippi, Alabama, Tennessee, Arkansas, Texas, Louisiana, Kansas, North Dakota, South Dakota, Wyoming, Nebraska (5), Utah, Montana, Arizona, Idaho, Missouri
Vermont, Illinois, Delaware, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, Rhode Island, Washington DC, Maine (4), Connecticut, New York, New Mexico, Minnesota, California, Washington, Hawaii
Indiana is the first state to flip. Obama won it in 2008.
Update: Fox has called Ohio for Obama, effectively handing him the election. But Karl Rove is strongly protesting that call, arguing that a quarter of the vote remains to be counted in Ohio and it's still too close to call. Rove and the Romney campaign argue that they can still win the state. So stay tuned. I've turned OH from blue to purple to reflect the dispute.
