'She's Shooting Him!' -- 911 Tape of Mom Shooting Intruder Released
The 911 tape of Georgia mom Melinda Herman taking down an intruder in her home have been released. Herman was at home in the middle of the afternoon with her twin 9-year-old children when a career criminal invaded their home. She and her husband owned a .38 revolver, which they kept in a safe. She retrieved the gun and hid with her kids in a crawl space. The intruder broke through two locked doors, found them and bashed his way into the crawl space with a crowbar.
That turned out to be a mistake on his part. Paula Slater defended herself and her kids, while her husband was on one phone with her and another with the police. She fired six shots and hit her assailant five times.
