Poll: Republicans Now on Par with Democrats on Health Care
Going back to the time of Harry Truman, Democrats have owned the health care issue. A new Rasmussen poll says that Obamacare, however, has flipped the script.
While some Republicans in Congress hope to stop President Obama’s national health care law by defunding it, voters are evenly divided over which political party they trust more to handle health care.
A new Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey finds that 43% of Likely U.S. Voters trust Republicans more to handle issues related to health care, but just as many (42%) trust Democrats more. Fifteen percent (15%) are not sure. (To see survey question wording, click here.)
The most recent RCP poll average on the question of repealing Obamacare still finds a majority in favor of that, with 51% wanting repeal to 43.3% who do not.
At the same time, President Obama's approval rating has dropped to 43%. That crash includes a massive loss among women, who now approve of his job performance at just 43%. Congress is even less popular.
The American people don't trust anyone in Washington. It's hard to make a case that we should.
