Now Feinstein is introducing a DOMA repeal bill
Coincidink? No, no, no. Question the timing, as they say. Democrats flee state capitals, expose themselves for the wholly owned subsidiary of the unions that they are while teachers give students carte blanche to fake sick notes forever, the world is aflame and revealing this president for the inexperienced and navel-gazing child he really is, and President Obama and pals suddenly go social issue hunting.
Senator Dianne Feinstein (D-CA) issued a statement today indicating that it is her “intention to introduce legislation that will once and for all repeal the Defense of Marriage Act.”
“My own belief is that when two people love each other and enter the contract of marriage, the Federal government should honor that.
I opposed the Defense of Marriage Act in 1996. It was the wrong law then; it is the wrong law now; and it should be repealed.”
Why stop with two? Hasn't DiFi seen Big Love yet? If you're stopping at two, you're really not thinking big enough yet. And really, what's the legal justification for setting a normative numerical limit on loving relationships? Hm? If you're all in for redefining stuff, supersize it.
In any case, this is all a series of ginned up moves intended to divide a unified and energized political opposition, and they obviously don't care a whit if they provoke an actual constitutional crisis along the way. That would probably be a feature from their point of view, not a bug.
Next up: Gov. Abercrombie out in Hawaii will revive the birther stuff. He's overdue for an idiotic soundbite-walkback cycle.
