No, Really: 'Bullying' Report Filed After HS Football Blowout
Friday night, the Aledo Bearcats jackstomped the Western Hills Cougars in a 91-0 blowout. The Bearcats were no strangers to one-sided slobber-knockers, this year alone beating teams by an average of 58 points.
One Western Hills parent was so shaken by the final score that he filed an official bullying report with the school district. Texas law requires Aledo's principal to launch a full investigation and submit a written report.
Bearcats coach Tim Buchanan is no Genghis Khan of the gridiron: he has told several media outlets that he's somewhat embarrassed by his team's serial shellacking. "I don't like it," he told the Fort Worth Star-Telegram. "I sit there the whole third and fourth quarter and try to think how I can keep us from scoring."
The opposing coach doesn't blame Buchanan either. "I think the game was handled fine," Western Hills' John Naylor said. "They're No. 1 for a reason, and I know coach Buchanan… We just ran into a buzzsaw."
The parent who filed the bullying charge should be visited by Child Protective Services. He is raising a psychological invertebrate who will be dangerously unprepared for adult life.
There's an entire chapter in my new ebook on the ridiculous current definition of "bullying". While school administrators are dealing with hurt feelings from a lost football game, real bullies are actually given cover to be worse.
