WASHINGTON – In a video interview at the White House Correspondents Dinner, Willie Robertson from A&E’s Duck Dynasty said he does not support everything President Obama has done during his time in office.
Robertson was asked if he thinks Obama is taking the country in the right direction.
“I don’t know man. I don’t agree with everything he does but that’s the country we live in – the voters voted the president in, so we try to make the best of what we can do,” said Robertson, alongside his wife Korie, on Saturday evening at the Washington Hilton.
Country music artist Brad Paisley would not say whether or not he supports Obama.
“It’s one of those things where you look at it, you have your differences with some things,” Paisley told PJ Media. “I’m one of these guys, though, that I look at everything. I’m always trying to figure out what somebody’s intentions are, where it’s going.”
Paisley cited the technical issues with the Obamacare website, healthcare.gov, as an example.
“It will be interesting to see how it unfolds, how they deal with the Obamacare website. I know that’s fixed but how they deal with that and how they deal with everything that’s going to come forward with that,” he said.
The Grammy award-winning musician also said he is not affected by most of the changes in Washington.
“I’m really lucky that I make enough money that I’m not impacted sort of daily by things that change. I’m just very thankful for that,” said Paisley.
Many celebrities visit Washington on behalf of a cause. NBC Today show host Carson Daly was asked if there is anything he wanted to mention to lawmakers at the dinner.
“I’m a big military supporter so if I got into a conversation about things that need to be improved around this town, it would be obviously to make sure the men and women coming back and re-enter are taken well care of,” Daly said.
Joe Morton of ABC’s hit show Scandal came to Washington with the nonprofit organization Creative Coalition to lobby Congress on increased funding for the National Endowment for the Arts.
Morton said the Republicans in Congress are Obama’s greatest problem.
“It does no good for the country, I mean, to put your ideals above the needs of the country – it’s a travesty,” Morton said.
Scandal actor Tony Goldwyn told PJ Media he supports Obama.
“I would like to see him keep up the strength of the convictions that he has to get stuff done and sort of plow through a lot of the resistance that’s been coming his way,” said Goldwyn.
