The Luxembourg company JAB Holdings, which already gobbled up Peet's Coffee & Tea and Caribou Coffee, is buying Panera Bread for $7.5 billion. JAB became the world's largest pure-play coffee maker by volume in 2015, and it swallowed several U.S.-based breakfast and coffee companies in recent years, including Krispy Kreme Doughnuts and the K-cup coffee pod-maker Keurig Green Mountain Inc.
