Wednesday's HOT MIC
Another one bites the dust.
Secretary for Veterans Affairs David Shulkin is out.
Another ouster by tweet?
Shulkin was under fire for reported ethics violations.
In other news, the president picked HIS OWN DOCTOR to lead the VA...
Yeah, this "self-driving car" thing will totally work:
A self-driving car was slapped with a ticket after police said it got too close to a pedestrian on a San Francisco street. The self-driving car owned by San Francisco-based Cruise was pulled over for not yielding to a pedestrian in a crosswalk. Cruise says its data shows the person was far away enough from the vehicle and the car did nothing wrong.
A witness, Kevin O’Connor, snapped a photo after seeing the motorcycle officer pull over the self-driving car as O’Connor drove through the South of Market area last week. “There was another car stopped alongside and he looked a little befuddled,” said O’Connor. “The cop was just writing a regular ticket like they always do.”
According to data collected by Cruise, the pedestrian was 10.8 feet away from the car when, while the car was in self-driving mode, it began to continue down Harrison at 14th St. Shortly after the car accelerated, the officer pulled it over.
"How fast was I going, officer?"
This went mostly unnoticed when Facebook announced it on March 5:
Getting clear signal on what stories are breaking news can help. We’ve been running a test in the US that lets a small group of local and national publishers identify and label breaking news. Starting this week, we will expand the test so that more than 50 additional publishers in North America, Latin America, Europe and Australia will be able to label their stories as breaking news on Facebook. If the expansion is successful, we may add more publishers.
Facebook won't release the names of 50 favored publishers, but based on what we know about conservative news publishers taking a hit with the recent algorithm change, we can all guess the sites that have NOT been invited to the breaking news party.
This is why I've disabled autocomplete on my phone.
