NEWS: Russia just flexed its veto power at the UN Security Council to kill a Syria resolution authored by the United States, United Kingdom, and France. The resolution condemned last week's sarin attack on the Syrian town of Khan Shaykhun and called for Syrian President Bashar al-Assad to allow investigators access.
Bolivia also voted "no." China, Kazakhstan and Ethiopia abstained.
The White House said earlier this afternoon that President Trump spoke last night with President Xi Jinping of China "to follow up after President Xi’s visit to Mar-a-Lago. It was a very productive call." No other details were offered.
