Monday's HOT MIC

In contemplating reasons for Scaramucci's firing, don't forget about this hit piece from Breitbart on Friday:

White House Communications Director Anthony Scaramucci was brought in purportedly to grease the wheels of the WH comms operation and to put the president’s agenda and achievements into the spotlight. Instead, a series of outbursts — including an unhinged late-night rant to a liberal reporter — means the only thing he has put into the spotlight so far is himself.

Obviously, Steve Bannon couldn't have been happy about the personal attacks directed at him in Scaramucci's interview with Ryan Lizza. His former teammates at Breitbart knew what needed to be done to turn public opinion against the new comms director amongst the faithful in Trump Universe. It had the added benefit of reminding our media-obsessed president that Scaramucci was sucking all the air out of Trump's media space. Count this as a big win for Bannon.
