Monday's HOT MIC
We are all supposed to go about our daily lives in the face of terror, but to say I am not nervous about being in St. Petersburg, Russia, as I will be for a few days in July, would be a lie. And I have been to this city before, one of the most beautiful in the world, and was eager to go back. But now Russia and the U.S. are adversaries again -- spurred on, I am convinced, by the absurd and reactionary Russia investigation, perhaps the biggest and most destructive wastes of time in my lifetime.
One wonders in general if tourism will be down significantly this summer across Europe. Another terror attack occurred today on the Champs-Elysees (deliberately omitting tiresome accents even though on parle francais). London we know about. The truth about the crazy man who just tried to exact revenge near the Finsbury Mosque is that it's amazing that something like that didn't happen sooner. It's incredibly sad what's happening to the world and our mobility in it.
