As Deb noted, Kavanaugh has denied the new allegations. He said they were from the "Twilight Zone."
It's pushing midnight here in Central Europe, but one final observation before lights out:
Trump press conference happening now.
He called Michael Avenatti a "low life," saying, "you can't get much worse." Fact Check: True.
And yes, I swear this happened. Jim Acosta said he wanted a woman to ask a question, and then he went on to ask a question himself...
Kirchick is no Trump fan, btw:
This is a point that can't be hammered home enough. The MSM really all believe themselves to still be impartial journalists. It's a state of mass delusion that is easy to keep going because they cocoon themselves in ideological homogeneity. They keep telling each other they're doing God's work so it must be true.
When actually confronted with an alternate reality, they quickly demonize the person presenting it and retreat to the cocoon to have their biases reaffirmed.
The Founding Fathers are weeping.
Spoiler alert: it's going to be awful.
I'll admit that I wasn't a huge fan of version 1.0 of this show. Bergen's framing of 2.0 as a "response" to the election of President Trump practically guarantees that the jokes are stale before they're even written.
