Here is your live blog for the day.

Good Friday morning.

Here is what's on the president's agenda today:

    • The president receives his intelligence briefing
    • President Trump receives an emergency preparedness update

Hurricane Florence sit-rep

Hurricane Florence has started to make landfall and ABC News reports it is about 200 miles wide. As of last night, 180,000 homes have no power and it's expected to get worse. Water levels are rising and also expected to get worse. I told you all to get out, but some have chosen to stick around. Now those holdouts need to be rescued.

Hundreds of people have been rescued from the New Bern, North Carolina, area.

FEMA teams were employing boats in the rescues and were determining which cases were the most severe. Roberts said many of the residents live near the Neuse and Trent rivers.

Flooding and a strong storm surge prompted more than 90 calls to the emergency operation center in Craven County, N.C., for residents trapped in vehicles and homes, spokeswoman Amber Parker said.

Response teams had already “brought in busloads” of rescued people from areas including Fairfield Harbor, New Bern, Adams Creek and Township 7, she said.

More reports will be coming in as the eye of the storm approaches land. Why do people stick around a dangerous, life-threatening situation?

KavaNOPE and Feinstein's letter

You aren't going to believe the latest development in the Kavanaugh Supreme Court nomination! Senator Dianne Feinstein has some kind of letter— a secret letter — that is rumored to contain allegations about Mr, Kavanaugh and some woman that date back to high school, HIGH SCHOOL! And she's had this letter since the summer but is making a big deal of it now and handed it over to the FBI. THE FBI YOU GUYZ. What could be in the letter???? How did the numerous background checks that Mr. Kavanaugh went through during his career miss this high school scandal?

I don't believe any of this and question the timing.

“I have received information from an individual concerning the nomination of Brett Kavanaugh to the Supreme Court. That individual strongly requested confidentiality, declined to come forward or press the matter further, and I have honored that decision,” Feinstein said in a statement. “I have, however, referred the matter to federal investigative authorities.”

The Democrats are demanding the Kavanaugh vote be postponed. Kim Strassel is raising some good questions. Sen. Olympia Collins has received giant genitals in the mail.

Let's see if the GOP stands strong or caves to the Democrat theatrics.

Manafort deal?

ABC News is reporting that Paul Manafort has made some kind of deal that will be announced today.

The deal is expected to be announced in court Friday, but it remains unclear whether Manafort has agreed to cooperate with prosecutors or is simply conceding to a guilty plea, which would allow him to avoid the stress and expense of trial, according to three sources with knowledge of the discussions.

ABC News spotted the team arriving in a dark SUV Thursday morning, pulling into a secret entrance out of public view at the building where Special Counsel Robert Mueller is based.

Deep State still pushing on Iran Deal...

Secretary of State Mike Pompeo is charging his predecessor, John Kerry, with undermining U.S. policy in Iran.

Honestly, does anyone ever get tired of gags written in BASIC?

Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh is forcefully denying the anonymous allegation that he tried to force himself on a teenage girl when they were high school students.

“I categorically and unequivocally deny this allegation," Kavanaugh said in a statement issued by the White House. "I did not do this back in high school or at any time.”

Republicans on the Judiciary Committee also released a letter of support from 65 women who knew Kavanaugh during his high school years at Georgetown Prep, an all-boys Jesuit school in Bethesda, Maryland.

"For the entire time we have known Brett Kavanaugh, he has behaved honorably and treated women with respect," the letter said.

This is just another ugly smear from the Democrats, who have proven over and over again that they lack the honor and decency to handle defeat in anything but a spiteful, vindictive, scorched-earth manner.
