Live Blog

Here is your live blog for the day.

President Trump weighs in on the Papadopoulos sentence:

G-Pop on Twitter last week:

There will probably be a Lifetime movie about this whole thing some day.

Whoopty-doo:

G-Pop was the guy who was supposed to hold the smoking gun on Trump colluding with Russia. He gets two weeks in jail for a process crime -- for having a foggy memory about an incident in which he was clearly set up.

Trump should pardon him now. He shouldn't spend one day in jail.

This is beyond mortifying:

In the news blurb from the Milwaukee, WI Journal Sentinel on Sept. 29, 2011, Betasso admits to groping an 18-year-old male in a hot tub for a "cheap thrill."

A Catholic priest arrested on allegations of inappropriately touching a young man in a Hartland hot tub in August has been ticketed for disorderly conduct after the Waukesha County district attorney's office declined to file criminal charges.

District Attorney Brad Schimel said Thursday that charges would not be filed because the 18-year-old victim did not want to testify or pursue formal charges.

According to the police report, Father Emmanuel Betasso, 45, whose legal name is Patrick Anthony Betasso, admitted touching the man's buttock for a "cheap thrill" after sitting nude with him in the hot tub at the Lake Country Racquet Ball Club on Aug. 17. They did not know each other.

Betasso, who had been named to become the lead pastor at St. Florian Church in West Allis, was arrested the next day at the Archdiocese of Milwaukee, where he was teaching a workshop for new pastors. After his arrest, Betasso was suspended from his religious order, the Discalced Carmelites, pending an investigation, and the archdiocese revoked his faculties to serve as a priest locally.

Calls to the archdiocese and Carmelites to update his status were not immediately returned Thursday.

Why wasn't this priest defrocked?

Let's finish with a little Babylon Bee:

Remember: everything that is now satirical is close to becoming true.

You'd think that after a while they'd figure out that the "OMG REPUBLICANS ARE GOING TO KILL US!" strategy is a dud:

The poor dears.
