Good Monday morning.
Here is what's on the president's agenda today:
- The president has lunch with the vice president
- President Trump welcomes the 2019 NCAA Division I Women’s Basketball National Champions: The Baylor Lady Bears to the White House
Climate of antisemitism
The New York Times published a hateful cartoon with a familiar anti-Semitic trope last week and the outlet released an apology three days later. I'm not reproducing it here, if you want to see it you can google it.
The Times claims the cartoon was published by a single editor without appropriate oversight. Do you believe that? What kind of newspaper editor thinks that cartoon was fit to present to the public? More importantly, what kind of culture exists at the Times where an employee would feel comfortable green-lighting such hateful trash?
Oh, by the way, we had another synagogue shooting this weekend on the last day of Passover. I must have missed all the calls from the cultural vanguard that "we" need to tone down the rhetoric -- rhetoric like the smack talk coming from sitting members of Congress and left-wing movement groups.
