Live Blog

Here is your live blog for the day.

Good Thursday morning.

Here is what's on President Trump's agenda today:

  • The president participates in a conversation at the Business Roundtable 2019 Q1 quarterly meeting
  • President Trump participates in an executive order signing and remarks on improving free inquiry, transparency, and accountability on campus

When is it time to have a national conversation about John McCain?

The media elites and Republican establishment are in a tizzy because President Trump continues to hit one of their political sacred cows: John McCain. These clowns loved John McCain because he was a "moderate," he actively pursued the holy globalist agenda, and could always be counted on to publicly knee-cap the "deplorables" and the hateful tea party types. There was a brief time, during McCain's presidential campaign, when he fell out of favor and the cool kids called him all the names they call us, sexist/racist etc., but all was good when Obama was safely in office. He was back at the popular kids' table in the lunchroom.

Recently, information has surfaced that McCain was an active participant in the coup against Trump. McCain and his associates were actively circulating a compilation of gossip and RUSSIAN-generated disinformation, alleging Trump and some of his associates were compromised and working for the RUSSIANS. McCain was promoting the idea that Trump was committing espionage. ESPIONAGE. This was after Trump won the election. He was the president-elect. McCain was trying to overthrow the president.

Now, these media and establishment conspiracy theorists have the vapors because Trump is a little pissed off and is fighting back. Can you blame him? We are scolded that we are not to speak ill of the dead. Since when? Less than two weeks ago, AOC (Chiquita Kruschev) called Ronald Reagan a racist. I didn't hear a peep about not speaking ill of the dead after that, did you?

“A perfect example of how special interests and the powerful have pitted white working class Americans against brown and black working class Americans is Reaganism in the ’80s when he started talking about welfare queens,” Ocasio-Cortez said in Austin, Texas. (The welfare queen he was talking about was white, but whatever.)

Why are people being shushed and bullied out of talking about McCain's actions? I'm not denigrating his service to his country but does that give him a free pass on anything else he has ever done that influences our political industry?

New Zealand bans "assault weapons"

What's an assault weapon? Whatever suits the narrative but the imaginary class of weapons will be banned in New Zealand following a horrific massacre at two mosques last week.

"Today I am announcing that New Zealand will ban all military-style semi-automatic weapons. We will also ban all assault rifles. We will also ban all high-capacity magazines," Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern said Wednesday. "We will ban all parts with the ability to convert semi-automatic or any other type of firearm into a military-style semi-automatic weapon."

Military style. Is there a technical definition of this? No. So if you have a gun that looks war-ish or scary, you're gonna hafta give that baby up. Will this influence gun crime? No, but it feels good. It feels effective and feelings are the only thing that matters nowadays. What doesn't matter is talking about the actual cause of gun crime, because that would require we mention certain verboten issues: mental health, environmental deficiencies, and so on.

Do you know what else is banned? Murder. Murder is banned and yet...people still murder.

Residents caught with the banned guns will face the penalties, including fines of up to $4,000 and/or three years in prison, she said, noting that the new law could increase these penalties.

It's amazing what one can accomplish when a new POTUS finally gives the orders to allow for the swift killing of very bad guys in large numbers.

I'm this close to being convinced that, given his stubborn refusal at first to acknowledge ISIS and then his pinprick attacks against its leadership but not its foot soldiers, that Barack Obama thought of ISIS as a legitimate expression of Islamic political will.

And, hell, maybe he's right.

Be kind, but don't feed the trolls...

On second thought, maybe this is the shortest and truest thing you'll read all day.

And if not, it's surely the most "cruel but fair" thing you'll read all day.

I had to explain to my 13-year-old the other night -- our dinner table conversations cover everything -- why I didn't think that sometime during his lifetime, there would be a Germany as we know it any longer.

Germans aren't breeding in sufficient numbers, the once-mighty Bundeswehr is barely a shadow of its Cold War self, and they're replacing their declining numbers with "migrants" from a non-Western culture.

It won't end well, but if these trends don't change it will end.

This is yuge.

Much like moving the embassy to Jerusalem, signaling to the Palestinians that the only thing on the table is real peace, this tells Damascus the same thing.

Jerusalem is the capital. The Golan Heights is Israel's by strategic necessity imposed on Israel by Syria.

Damn proud of Trump right now.
