Live Blog

Here is your live blog or the day.

My appearance on Tucker Carlson.

It's always a great pleasure.

Going on Tucker Carlson

I'll be going on Tucker Carlson tonight at 8:45 to talk about the SPLC's scandalous history on race. Here are some highlights:

And a profound question (if I say so myself):

Shot.

Chaser.

By the way, if you want an explanation for why H.R. 1 is a terrible, horrible, no good, very bad idea, read this:

Could this be true?

YOUR PJM LIVE BLOG OPEN THREAD

The Iraq War Revisited, new malware threats, a constitutional amendment against stacking SCOTUS, weed-infused jelly beans...

...what'd we miss today?

This is from 2015, but it's even more relevant today than it was then.

GRAPHIC — Mexican Border City Cartel Gunfights Kill Five.

Breitbart isn't messing around with the headline. Don't click over if you have a tender tummy.

How bad is the Mexican Drug War? Well, it's damn near a civil war. The latest figures I found were an estimated 120,000 dead (we lost around 4,500 in Iraq) and another 25,000 missing. Many of the dead -- most? -- are innocent civilians.

Those figures are seven and five years old, respectively. They've gone nowhere but up since.

We need to be extremely clear about what the Mexican Drug War is really about. It's almost entirely about feeding America's appetite for illicit drugs. As pot legalization gains steam in this country, that increasingly removes one important source of funding for the cartels. But so long as our Drug War continues, there are going to be a lot more dead Mexican, and a lot of MS-13 spillover violence in this country.

Those are hard facts, but it's a hard world.

Please make this stop:

Kellyanne Conway on Wednesday defended President Donald Trump’s attacks on her husband George Conway saying he’s “a counterpuncher” and asserting that the president is free to respond when he’s accused of having a mental illness.

“He left it alone for months out of respect for me,” Conway, a senior Trump aide, told POLITICO in a brief telephone interview. “But you think he shouldn’t respond when somebody, a non-medical professional accuses him of having a mental disorder? You think he should just take that sitting down?”

“Don't play psychiatrist any more than George should be,” she added. “You're not a psychiatrist and he's not, respectfully.”

Am I the only one who thinks marital squabbles ought to be kept private? If nothing else, do it for the children.

Meanwhile, over at VodkaPundit: Another Malware Threat to Your Home Network -- and what you can do about it.

This one is taking over everything from routers, to webcams, to DVRs. But I have fixes for you, from the very simple to the... well, I do tend to geek out over computer gear.
