It's really hard not to hate Google:
Alphabet Inc’s Google said on Wednesday it had made an “error” in not disclosing that its Nest Secure home security system had a built-in microphone in its devices. Earlier this month, Google said here Nest Secure would be getting an update and users could now enable its virtual assistant technology Google Assistant on Nest Guard.
The device's published specifications did not mention a microphone, however the updated product page here now mentions one. “The on-device microphone was never intended to be a secret and should have been listed in the tech specs. That was an error on our part. The microphone has never been on and is only activated when users specifically enable the option,” Google said.
All the big tech companies -- Google, Amazon, Apple -- are hell-bent on installing spies in our own houses, listening devices like Siri and Alexa and now even our thermostats. For our own good, of course. And here we used to think Big Brother couldn't happen here.
And it’s Bee for the win!
The latest on the Jussie Smollett hoax:
More on the Smollett case from Rob Eglas of Chicago's ABC7:
I'm not sure what "culture of accountability" means but I think it may be liberal-speak for "under indictment."
Fox 32 Chicago reporter Rafer Weigel, who has done some of the best reporting on the Jussie Smollett hoax, tweeted this three hours ago:
“Don’t stick it in angry” is the new “don’t stick it in crazy.” Seriously, this woman is one silly joke away from going Full Lorena on any man with bad enough judgement to get that close.
Things like this remind me that I need to get re-serious about my day-drinking, but having kids to pick up from school in the afternoon makes that impossible.
I hope that clears things up for you.
P.S. Not a parody account.
