Live Blog

Here is your live blog for the day.

Good Monday morning.

Here is what's on the president's agenda today:

  • The president meets with the Problem Solvers Caucus
  • President Trump has lunch with the secretary of State
  • The president participates in a signing ceremony for S. 24, the “Government Employee Fair Treatment Act of 2019”

AG nominee Barr testimony

Yesterday, William Barr testified at his attorney general confirmation hearing before the Senate Judiciary Committee. The Democrats were concerned that special counsel Robert Mueller might not have free rein to continue conducting his Trump witch hunt so Trump's presidency can be tainted by a dark cloud of suspicion. Republicans were worried about the corruption of the DOJ and the FBI. Barr said all the right things.

Political tabloid The Hill gave Barr high marks.

Barr cleared the main hurdle for any presidential nominee: He avoided the kind of gaffe that could go viral and blow up his chances.

In fact, he never came close to losing his footing. His demeanor was calm throughout and there were none of the lurches from passivity to aggression that Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh showed at his much more controversial hearings in September.

Harris, Booker, and Klobuchar are all on the committee and are all running for president in 2020.

The Democrats have an anti-Semitism problem

Tablet published a terrific expose a few weeks ago on the despicable anti-Semites leading the Women's March. Now the Democrat Party has bailed out of the latest Woman's March event scheduled for this weekend. Good for them.

The Democratic National Committee delivered a devastating blow Tuesday by dropping its affiliation with the third annual Women’s March on Washington, D.C., joining a growing list of liberal groups that have severed ties with the organization amid allegations of anti-Semitism, which the leaders deny.

The fall has been dramatic. In 2017, more than 560 progressive advocacy groups were listed on the Women’s March website as partners. As of Tuesday, there were fewer than 200.

Leader Tamika Mallory appeared on the trash show "The View" and defended Jew-hater and Nation of Islam leader Louis Farrakhan. Mallory had called Farrakhan the GOAT — Greatest of All Time — for his work in the black community, like spreading anti-Semitism and racism. Terrific work.

Along those lines, the Democrats have some real bad actors in their incoming class of Reps. Rashida Tlaib is one of those people.

Ah, yes, the old JEWISH QUESTION. The Jay Queue.

But as Tlaib's Jew-hating escapes the level of attention that someone like Rep. Steve King got, Florida commissioner Annabelle Lima-Taub came under fire for a Facebook post she made about Tlaib.

The post came five days after Tlaib urged Democrats to “impeach the motherf*****,” referring to President Donald Trump. (RELATED: Sen. Rubio’s Office: It’s ‘Deeply Alarming’ Rep. Tlaib Was Photographed With Pro-Hezbollah Activist)

“Proudly signed. A Hamas-loving anti-Semite has NO place in government! She is a danger and [I] would not put it past her to become a martyr and blow up Capitol Hill,” Lima-Taub wrote, according to the South Florida Sun Sentinel.

I don't really have anything to say about this. Until we condemn all racism equally and stop giving people special bonus points because they are members of a protected class, I'm not joining in on the mob that is being used to keep Republicans and conservatives scared and keep Democrats and progressives empowered.

And that's all I've got, now go beat back the angry mob!

Whoops, there's goes Pelosi's "security concerns" talking point.

Townhall's  Guy Benson predicted on Fox News that the president would disregard Pelosi's suggestion that they delay the SOTU, and show up as originally invited, "based on the agreed upon date and time and that will then be back in Pelosi's court to decide whether or not she wants to actually 'disinvite' the president of the United States from giving the speech."

Honestly, when it comes to AOC, I believe less is more. I'd really like to ignore her latest brain farts in the Washington Post,  but this is just so egregious:

Language warning:

She's using ghetto slang for gang rape to describe what she wants to do to America with the progressive agenda?

What a nasty, awful woman.

I vote "yes" to this:
