While I am very glad that I will be going back to visit over the holidays, each day brings news that makes me even happier that I left the state:
From The Washington Examiner:
The state has opened the door to so many easy lawsuits that it is hurting the local economy and jobs. The group cited a study that said, “estimates that excessive tort costs to the California economy result in $11.6 billion in annual direct costs and 197,776 lost jobs when dynamic effects are considered.”
To be fair, almost everything that the legislature does in the Golden State also hurts local economies and jobs. The new state motto should be, "Screw You, We Don't Care About Long-Term Consequences!"
Clunky, I know, but honest.
