Friday's HOT MIC

My little town.

Marijuana grow bust in Monument, Colorado.

There's a legal market for it here. The permits don't cost much. And did I mention there's a legal market for it?

Nevertheless:

The Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) is at the scene of a marijuana grow bust in Monument.

It's happening at a home on Breton Place, near Prairie Wind Elementary School. Our crew arrived on scene just before 6 a.m. Friday.

Law enforcement tells 11 News the home is a rental home. Some neighbors in the area had no idea about the grow, while others tell 11 News they have been contacting the DEA about the home for the past year. They claim they saw drug deals happening in the middle of the night.

It's a nice neighborhood, too. Big houses on big lots, adjacent to a golf course.

Makes me wonder if the DEA is going to seize the house from its owner, even though the (alleged!) crime was apparently committed by renters.
