Honor Their Service: the Troop-a-thon
During these worrisome economic times the war may not be the lead story, but nonetheless American troops continue to fight for freedom and liberty. Move America Forward's "Honor Their Service" Troop-a-thon reminds all Americans about the brave men and women overseas, and provides the opportunity for Americans to join and to say "thank you for your service to this great nation."
President Ronald Reagan's public service legacy embodies this gracious sentiment. Move America Forward believes it's a great honor to be associated with a president immortalized by his national security vigor and compassion for our troops. The care packages include President Reagan's favorite candy, Jelly Belly jelly beans. And with the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library as the stage for this year's event, this sequel is sure to top the original!
The noteworthy politicians and celebrities participating in this year's event demonstrate the continued tremendous public support for our troops. Guests include: President George H.W. Bush, President George W. Bush, Vice President Dick Cheney, General David H. Petraeus, Buzz Aldrin, Rush Limbaugh, Kelsey Grammer, Gary Sinise, Dr. Laura Schlessinger, Sean Hannity, Jon Voight, and many more! These fantastic guests guarantee an eight-hour event full of personal anecdotes and calls to "Honor Their Service." UStream.tv will broadcast the Troop-a-thon from 1 p.m. PST to 9 p.m. PST, and other media outlets will also feature portions of the program.
Last year's Troop-a-thon brought in over $1.5 million and sent over 80 tons of care packages -- an inspirational and unprecedented symbol of American civilians' patriotic appreciation for U.S. troops. Move America Forward believes it can make history again, but fellow Americans must gather together once more and "Honor Their Service."
The Troop-a-thon is the finale of a 30-day care package drive, currently underway. In order to send the largest shipment ever, Move America Forward needs support now. To sponsor a care package today, or to get more information about this great event, please check out http://www.troopathon.org.
