Gird Your Loins: Joe Biden Wants Jobs Bill Critics to Know What it Feels Like to Be Raped

Proving that last week's bizarre riff on rape and murder by the veep wasn't a gaffe or a one-off. This is the man's actual sales pitch. Video at the link.

“I wish these guys who thought it was temporary, I wish they had some notion of what it was like to be on the other side of a gun, or [to have] a 200-pound man standing over you, telling you to submit,” Biden told a crowd at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia on Tuesday, adding, “Folks, it matter, it matters.”

Biden attacked critics of Obama’s American Jobs Act who call the federal spending temporary, saying it does not matter if the spending is temporary if it funds public safety jobs that could prevent rape and murder.

“The other thing I’ve hear from my friends who oppose this – this whole jobs bill – [is] that this is just temporary,” Biden said.

“Well let me tell you, it’s not temporary when that 911 call comes in and a woman’s being raped, if a cop shows up in time to prevent the rape. It’s not temporary to that woman,” said Biden.  “It’s not temporary to the guy whose store is being held up and there’s a gun pointed at his head, if a cop shows up and he’s not killed. That’s not temporary to that store owner. Give me a break! Temporary. ”

The debt that the jobs bill would force on future generations isn't temporary either. There's always a question of how government spending gets paid for, and the Democrats' answer to that question is always the same: Don't cut spending elsewhere, don't get the government out of the way so the private sector can grow, which will in turn increase tax revenues; just raise taxes.

But let's take a small victory in hearing from a Democrat speak with some fire on basic law and order. The veep should go have a talk with the occupiers up in Baltimore.
