BREAKING NEWS: McConnell to attach ObamaCare repeal to FAA bill today
BREAKING NEWS: Senator Mitch McConnell will move today to attach ObamaCare repeal to a Federal Aviation Administration bill, according to sources from the minority leader's office. This is an escalation in the Republican Senate's strategy to push for a full repeal of the unpopular health care overhaul. It comes one day after a federal district judge ruled the law was unconstitutional and only a few hours after two Republican senators introduced legislation to allow states to opt out of ObamaCare.
The Tatler has learned the Senate minority leader plans today to offer the House-passed repeal of the ObamaCare as an amendment to the Federal Aviation Administration bill that is set for floor consideration.
The Kentucky Republican will file the amendment following the GOP’s weekly caucus lunch. Senate Democrats have vowed to block any attempt to repeal ObamaCare.
Sen. McConnell could have brought up the House repeal bill as early as last Thursday. His action comes one day after a federal district court judge in Florida threw out the law on constitutional grounds.
Earlier today Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-South Carolina) and Sen. John Barrasso (R-Wyoming) introduced S.244 (The State Health Care Choice Act), which would allow states to opt out of ObamaCare.
