Bossy People Want to Bully You to Stop Using the Word 'Bossy'
You see, this is why you can't give word banner an inch on anything. Agree to ban one word, for whatever justified or noble reason, and they just move on to ban another one, and another one. It's always about staying on offense and putting others on defense.
When a little boy asserts himself, he's called a “leader.” Yet when a little girl does the same, she risks being branded “bossy.” Words like bossy send a message: don't raise your hand or speak up. By middle school, girls are less interested in leading than boys—a trend that continues into adulthood. Together we can encourage girls to lead.
Yeah. This is ridiculous. It's boys who are falling behind in school as girls are favored these days. It's the Boy Scouts who have been bossed and bullied by the left for years, while the Girl Scouts sell their cookies everywhere and slyly link up with Planned Parenthood. It's men who are portrayed as bumbling idiots in most media these days, while women tend to get treated with respect.
They're trying to ban a word, and therefore a thought. And they're off the mark. The actual word for what they're describing is "bitchy." But they can't very well have a bunch of little girls adorn a website splashed with that word, so they chose a word that hardly anyone uses much anyway.
See their problem?
The point of this senseless bullying is just to cause a stir and divide people and make another unoriginal video ad using cuts of famous people saying the same tired crappy phrases and all that, for the cause, whatever that happens to be. On less charitable days this kind of thing strikes me as a mild form of thought terrorism. You just never know what's going to become a verboten word or idea next. One always must be on one's guard, lest yesterday's innocuous word gets you pilloried and cast out where there is weeping and gnashing of teeth.
I'm tired of bossy bullies like the Ban Bossy crowd. Just tired of it. I hope it comes off as a bit bossy when I tell them to shut up.
