'Be Mindful of Your Sources,' Says White House that has Accused Romney of Felony and Murder
WH spokesboy Jay Carney, ever the font of unintended comedy.
During the White House Press Briefing today, Press Secretary Jay Carney told a reporter to “be mindful of your sources” when asked about the Drudge Report article reporting that Mitt Romney was considering selecting former Army General and current CIA Director David Petraeus as his running mate.
The report asserted that President Obama privately told a top fundraiser that Romney was considering it.
“I can say with absolute confidence, such an assertion has never been uttered by the president.” Carney said. “And again be mindful of your sources.”
Right. On the one hand, this same White House has played a role in escalating the character attacks on Mitt Romney from bullying to being a felon to outright murder. And on the other hand, this same White House has its minions out accusing Romney of not paying any taxes for 10 years, based on some source that exists only somewhere inside Harry Reid's alien-like head.
And it's only August.
For what it's worth, the "source" for the Petraeus story was not Drudge, but a major Obama fundraiser. Drudge is the reporter. The same reporter, it's worth nothing, that built his career getting major scoops out of the connected and powerful.
