Bankrupt Detroit Demands Federal Pork
We will never convince people like Detroit City Council Member JoAnn Watson that the federal government must spend less money. Never. Their sense of entitlement and grievance is too strong.
"After the election of Jimmy Carter, the honorable Coleman Alexander Young, he went to Washington, D.C. and came home with some bacon," said Watson. "That's what you do."
"Our people in an overwhelming way supported the re-election of this president and there ought to be a quid pro quo and you ought to exercise leadership on that," said Watson. "Of course, not just that, but why not?"
Why not? Because we don't have the money. Because we're running trillion dollar deficits every year. Because Detroit's irresponsibility that stretches across decades of corruption should not force Des Moines or Dallas into paying for it.
Watch the video to see the councilwoman's belief in the corrupt city's entitlement, and hear many in the crowd murmur in support of her.
