And Romney Re-Earns His Flipper Cred (Update: Perry Rips Romney, Supports Kasich's Effort)
Such a profile in courage, the Mittster. He supported a public employee union benefit re-vamp in June, but now that polls show the measure is likely to go down, he won't come out in direct support of it now. But he'll let his support be implied by his appearance at a phone bank set up to support the measure.
Follow all that? That's the kinda guy you want next to you in a foxhole right there.
Erick Erickson blasts. Katrina Trinko at NRO defends. This blogger is a little sickened by the spectacle. Though there may be less to this than meets the eye. The most innocent explanation is that Romney doesn't know what's being published in his name on his own campaign facebook page, including policy posts.
I'm not sure which symbol is more appropriate to Romney's campaign at this point, a dolphin or a chameleon.
Update: The Perry campaign goes after Romney's flip.
AUSTIN – Perry campaign Communications Director Ray Sullivan has released the following statement:
"Mitt Romney’s finger-in-the-wind politics continued today when he refused to support right-to-work reforms signed by Ohio Governor John Kasich – reforms Romney supported in June. Americans are tired of politicians who change their beliefs to match public opinion polls. Mitt Romney has a long record of doing this on issues like government-mandated health care and the Obama stimulus. Mitt Romney needs to realize that when you try to stand on both sides of an issue, you stand for nothing."
