Hanna was going to head over our house on the Chesapeake Bay, but seems to have shifted Eastward over the last few days. Still I got the generator checked and have moved some stuff out of the yard and indoors until it is over.

Brendan,
Just wanted to let you know things are fine. 90% electricity out in town. I got it back at my office today. That is where I am now. They say it may be weeks before all areas are fixed. If you know the weather here, that is NOT a nice thought. LOL! Thanks again for all the information. It was very helpful.

My last Gustav post: this storm will be somewhat stealthy in its economic impact on Louisiana, unlike Katrina which was obvious.

Just the fact that it will keep homeowners' and commercial insurance rates high damaging the state's ability to attract new businesses alone will be one of the unseen costs that nevertheless will make living in the state less attractive.

We already had net domestic loss in population before Katrina. This will be another blow.
