Jeb's Secret Email!

Deflect, deflect, deflect!” seems to be the order of the day from Camp Clinton:

As Florida governor, Jeb Bush used another, previously unreported email address, records show — the newest wrinkle in an evolving debate over public officials’ use of private email accounts.

When Bush released thousands of emails from his tenure as Florida’s governor as part of his preparations to run for president next year, he did so from the email account he shared openly, [email protected].

Those emails also include references to another email address, [email protected]. Bush said through a spokeswoman that he was unaware of the account, although records showed that people wrote to him there more than 400 times between 1999 and 2004.

I’m sure I have orphaned emails — from AOL, from work, from services signed up for and then forgotten — which apiece have received a lot more than 100 emails a year. You probably do, too. The question is whether Bush illegally used email accounts and deleted emails relating to the people’s business. So far, there’s nothing but the “Everyone does it!” smokescreen. “It” in this case meaning “maintains a personal account.”

That stuff about illegally deleting 30,000 emails? Well, what’s a smokescreen for?

That said, I’d be happy — thrilled, even — if this ongoing scandal, defection, and smokescreen were to result in both Jeb and Hillary getting forced out of the race.

One Republican for one Democrat — seems fair, yes?
