Another Smart Diplomacy Update

January 3rd, 2014 - 1:38 pm

Here’s USA Today’s addendum to this morning’s report by Bill Roggio:

Al-Qaeda militants in key western Iraqi cities launched a series of brazen attacks against police stations and fought battles with government forces Thursday amid growing sectarian tensions between Sunnis and Shiites.

Al-Qaeda militants, emboldened by their powerful role in attempting to topple the government in neighboring Syria, have been exploiting a sense of alienation among many minority Sunnis in Iraq.

“It’s a perfect storm that’s been brewing for a long time,” said Ryan Crocker, a former U.S. ambassador to Iraq.

Read that last bit once more.

“Brewing for a long time.”

Did we ignore the warnings? Was the “hope” that it would turn out to be Arab Spring-inspired “change?” Did the White House believe its own election-year spin that al Qaeda was “on the run?”

I hope Jay Carney faces these questions, but I’d rather Professor Wiggleroom faced them himself.

But, hey at least the Syrians missed their deadline for putting chemical weapons on ships ...UNEXPECTEDLY!

Smart diplomacy is still on track though, because despite the UNEXPECTED missed deadline, we expect all other demands will be met on time and fully. Expectantly yours, Barack Redline Obama.

The only plausible reason for anyone to have voted for the fraud Wiggleroom was the hope he would sensibly get us the hell out of Iraq and Afghanistan. Alas such hopes were forlorn, he possesses not an ounce of such common sense, he genuinely believed his own BS about being "different", and he cannot even do the simple decent thing of withdrawing. So we waste great men and money for.....any idea here?

The HOPE was that if we ignored it, it would go away.
We did.
It didn't.

If you ask Dear Liar about it, he'll just say this is the first he's heard of it.
